Silvia Mogas Launches HeyLola Foundation at ETHConf New York to Bring Real-World Utility to Web3

New York, NY — June 2026 — Entrepreneur and Web3 strategist Silvia Mogas, Founder of HeyLola.co, presented a new blockchain-powered social impact initiative at ETHConf New York, connecting Web3 technology with animal welfare, shelter visibility, donations, and the future of pet digital identity.

The activation brought adoptable rescue dogs from Jersey City Animal Shelter into one of New York's leading Web3 events, creating a tangible example of how blockchain infrastructure can support real communities and solve practical problems.

HeyLola Foundation was created by Silvia Mogas with a clear mission: to give shelter dogs greater visibility, support shelters through new fundraising models, and explore how emerging technologies can improve adoption, ownership, health, and travel records for pets.

Making Web3 understandable through a real cause

For many people outside the blockchain industry, concepts such as wallets, digital identity, smart contracts, and on-chain records can still feel abstract.

The HeyLola Foundation activation was designed around a cause that people immediately understand: helping rescue dogs find support, visibility, and permanent homes.

Attendees could meet the dogs, discover their stories, support the participating shelter, and explore how Web3 tools could create more transparent and accessible donation and sponsorship flows.

Technology only matters when it solves a real problem. I created this initiative to make Web3 more tangible and more human. When people can use technology to support a shelter dog, contribute to an adoption journey, or access trusted pet information, the value becomes much easier to understand.Silvia Mogas, Founder of HeyLola.co

A blockchain-powered layer for animal welfare

Following the activation, Mogas participated as a solo hacker at the ETHGlobal hackathon, where she developed an early Web3 layer for HeyLola Foundation.

The MVP explored how individuals could donate in crypto, sponsor shelter dogs, and interact with blockchain-enabled pet profiles without facing the complexity normally associated with Web3 applications. The prototype incorporated technologies from Chainlink Labs, Privy, and Blink.Cash to explore more accessible wallet, payment, and data flows.

The long-term vision is to develop a portable digital identity for pets that could connect trusted information such as microchip data, vaccination records, pet passports, shelter and adoption history, verified ownership, emergency contacts, donations and sponsorship activity, and travel and insurance documentation.

This infrastructure could support pet parents, shelters, veterinarians, governments, insurers, travel providers, and animal welfare organisations.

Connecting shelters with new communities

The activation featured three dogs from Jersey City Animal Shelter: Kallie, Koney, and Breeze. By bringing the dogs into a technology event, HeyLola Foundation introduced them to a new community while also highlighting the everyday challenges shelters face around visibility, funding, adoption, and operational resources.

Every shelter dog deserves to be seen and given a real chance. This activation gives Kallie, Koney, and Breeze the opportunity to meet a new community while helping more people understand the work involved in caring for and rehoming shelter animals.Mark Byrnes, Director of Jersey City Animal Shelter

A more human entry point into Web3

The initiative reflects Silvia Mogas' broader work at the intersection of innovation, brand building, partnerships, blockchain, and real-world adoption. Through HeyLola.co, she is developing a global ecosystem that connects pet parents, shelters, veterinarians, dog-friendly businesses, travel providers, and local communities.

Web3 needs more use cases that create meaningful real-world impact. HeyLola Foundation brought an initiative to ETHConf through a cause that people immediately understand, creating genuine connections while supporting rescue dogs. As a dog mom myself, I'm excited by the potential of blockchain-enabled tools that can create transparent digital identities for pets and enable crypto donations for shelters.Valerie Song, Operations and Community Lead, ETHGlobal

According to Mogas, the objective is not to make users learn blockchain terminology. The objective is to design products where the technology works in the background and the benefit is immediately clear.

We should not ask people to understand the infrastructure before they can use the product. The experience needs to be simple, emotional, and useful. That is how emerging technology becomes part of everyday life.Silvia Mogas, Founder, HeyLola.co
